“Beyond Self” for Rural Higher Education
The real life story of Syed Abu Zafar Azad and Dr Atia Zafar is nothing short of a revolution that continues to benefit Pakistan today. Dr Atia began a small clinic in Malir in 1965 and today her family boasts almost 40 doctors in the immediate family.
Inspired by the ambition of Mr Zafar Azad and the determination of Dr Atia the family with friends of humanity continues to carry the vision forward.
This is my proud privilege as I share good news that the Malir University (a project of Zafar & Atia Foundation Charitable Trust) is now a reality after five years of hectic efforts.
You may have already seen or heard the progress of Malir University with the start of the construction of College of Nursing and MidwiferyUsman Allawala Block in October 2019 through the seed money received from Mr. Saeed Allawala of ATCO Laboratories.
The entire team at Malir University, Koohi Goth deserves to take pride, as the most difficult part of putting the master plan for the construction of the university project is complete along with the faculties.
The proposed faculties at Malir University are:
- - College of Nursing & Allied Health Sciences
- - College of Medicine
- - College of Pharmacy
Philanthropic support by the friends, corporates and family members has been vital to Zafar Atia Foundation Charitable Trust since it’s founding, and it will remain a critical element in our efforts to ensure and enhance the academic excellence of the university on a sustainable basis. We are hopeful to receive critical & core funding from the friends and supporters of Zafar Atia Foundation Charitable Trust, to advance among the good universities in Pakistan, we must attract more donors and philanthropist as our focus is to empower the poorest of the poor through generosity of the privileged and kind hearted individuals and corporate sector
